Why Consider a Heat Kit?

A heat kit, often referred to as an electric heat strip, serves as a supplementary or backup heat source installed within the air handler. Functioning similarly to a high-capacity hair dryer, it efficiently distributes warm air throughout the duct system. Heat kits are typically utilized during emergency situations, such as when a heat pump is temporarily out of service, or when external temperatures drop to exceptionally cold levels. Although not as energy-efficient as heat pumps, these units provide necessary heating support and are generally used for brief periods.
